Vigil in Support of the People of Ukraine
A vigil in support of the people of Ukraine will be held for the University of Guelph community on campus Tuesday, March 15

For Immediate Release - March 14, 2022

Hosted by U of G’s Ukrainian Students' Club, the vigil will take place in Branion Plaza from 12:30 to 1 p.m.

The vigil will include remarks and readings from members of the Ukrainian Students' Club. There will also be a prayer for peace and a moment of silence.

Dr. Charlotte Yates, U of G president, will also offer remarks.

“I am grateful to the Ukrainian Students’ Club for organizing this vigil and for providing us with an opportunity to gather in reflection and in solidarity with the people of Ukraine,” said Yates.

“U of G community members – particularly those of Ukrainian heritage – are understandably experiencing a range of challenging emotions as a result of this shocking attack on democracy, and I want to remind you to lean on one another and to access the resources available to you through the University," she said.
