Elections Ontario Hosts Advance Polling Station on U of G Campus

The Ontario provincial election has officially begun. Election day is June 2.

Elections Ontario will host an advance polling station in Peter Clark Hall (University Centre Level 0) from May 25 to 27. The advance polls are open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day.

All Guelph residents are eligible to vote at the on-campus advance polls. Voters can park on campus free of charge May 25 and 27. All those coming to campus are required to wear a medical-style mask as per the University’s COVID-19 safety measures.

To register to vote or for more information on what to bring with you when you vote, please visit the Elections Ontario website.

U of G recognizes the importance of civic engagement and academic freedom and the role each has in developing global citizens. The U of G community is encouraged to participate in the democratic process and may freely support and advocate for parties and candidates of their choosing. However, as a publicly supported institution, the University is non-partisan and neither supports or endorses any political party or platform.

The University of Guelph’s Election Policy outlines guidelines for campaign-related activities on campus and at regional facilities during an election period. Specifically, it outlines the University’s role in an election, as well as policies around campaign materials, usage of University facilities, and canvassing on U of G property and residences.

This Policy applies to all campuses and facilities of the University of Guelph, with theexception of the University of Guelph-Humber, which is governed by an equivalent policy at Humber College.
