Stick To It!

Eric Huber’s Cane Collection is on exhibit at the Wellington County Museum and Archives from January 25th to June 7th

For Immediate Release - January 24, 2020

Wellington County Museum and Archives’ newest exhibit is Stick to it!

A collector from Guelph/Eramosa Township, Eric currently has over 200 canes and walking sticks in his extensive collection. This exhibit is the latest in the Wellington County Collects series that highlights a local collector.

“From fashion accessory to personal assistive device, canes and walking sticks have had a long and varied history in our society,” said Curatorial Assistant Lindsay Woelfle, who worked with Huber to create the exhibit. “Eric has spent years building a collection that spans the history of the cane. This exhibit features a selection of canes and walking sticks chosen by Eric to show off his best, favourite and most unique parts of his collection.”

The exhibit will open January 25 and run until June 7.

The Wellington County Museum and Archives is located on Wellington Road 18 between Fergus and Elora. The galleries are open weekdays from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm and 1:00 to 5:00 pm on weekends and holidays.

Admission by donation.
