For Immediate Release - December 2, 2019
The GFMA family celebrated the past years' accomplishments with a delicious banquet dinner and great company that are friends and family of GFMA. Being an active part of the community is important to GFMA, and the gala raised over $9,000 for the Guelph General Hospital and Children’s Foundation.
The event was organized by the owners of Guelph Family Martial Arts Nathan and Sophie Skoufis who are lifetime residents of the area, who are very involved in charity events throughout the area.
The Children’s Foundation Free to Grow program is life changing on the effect it has on the youth throughout our area. The Free to Grow program allows the youth in our area that normally would not have a chance to be involved in organized activities the opportunity to do so including music lessons, martial arts lessons etc.
Nathan Skoufis said
“I know the benefits that organized activity had on me and I was fortunate enough to participate. Organized activity is life changing especially in the formative years for our youth, it helps develop respect, confidence, modesty, courtesy, focus, perseverance and discipline. Every person should have that same opportunity.”
Nathan Skoufis added
“The Guelph General Hospital needs urgent support, especially with the heightened population in our area that are all increasing the demands on our health care system. We need to come together as a community to try and work together to ensure the health care system is able to provide sufficient care, as this is one of the amazing benefits of living in Canada.”
Nathan and Sophie should would like to thank everyone who was a part of the event. If you would like to participate in future events, contact us at ...
