Celebrate Spring and help support the Old Growth Forest Project at Ignatius Jesuit Centre
On Sunday May 29th, the forest will be full of surprises – blossoming flowers, trees leafing out, birds singing, and at every turn of the trail you may encounter music, singing, dance, poetry, and more, all in celebration of the return of spring and the ongoing ecological restoration of the Ignatius Old Growth Forest.
SKSS Productions is proud to present the 5th year Spring Awakes! Volunteers and performers have come together with gifts of time and artistry to create this unique and artful hiking experience.
Performers include Jeff Bird, Tricia Brubacher, Colin Couch, Gary Diggins, Brooke Dufton, Jane Ellenton & Christy Munro, Peg and Neal Evans, Guelph Youth Dance Company, choreographed by Amber Sherwood-Robinson, Dean Huyck, Shannon Kingsbury, Murray Ritchie and Chris Terhune, Tannis Slimmon, Sue Smith, students of the Trillium Waldorf School Grade 8 Class, Ondine Chorus, Brad Woods, and more!
Every $20 raised helps to protect 1 square metre of land which will grow trees into perpetuity. On the hike you will see the progress of the project – extensive plantings of native trees, invasive species amelioration, and some really, really old trees.
